Adams belts grand slam as Thunder coast
MANCHESTER, N.H. — David Adams continued his April surge with two hits, including a grand slam, and four runs scored today as the Thunder snapped a three-game losing streak with a 13-3 win over New Hampshire at Merchantsauto.com Stadium.
David Phelps improved to 2-0 by spreading out four hits over six innings and striking out six.
Trenton (8-5) heads home to begin a seven-game homestand against Portland and New Hampshire with Lance Pendleton going tomorrow against Portland’s Eamon Portice.
Adams, the Yankees’ top infield prospect at Double-A, is fourth in the Eastern League with a .388 batting average and has an OPS of 1.087.
Adams also is the only Thunder regular hitting above .270.
